ABOUT US

Behind KHAMALS

I started the brand in 2011, designing pieces for women who wanted to express themselves beyond trends. Life took me in different directions, and for a while, KHAMALS was put aside — but the desire to create never really left me.

Years later, in Switzerland, I found myself returning to it.

This time, however, I am building KHAMALS differently.

I want to create pieces with character, story and intention — clothing that can travel across cultures, generations and everyday life while still making the woman wearing it feel unmistakably herself.

My Cameroonian heritage is an important part of that story. I am particularly inspired by the richness of Bamum culture — its artistry, symbols, architecture and craftsmanship — and I explore ways of allowing those influences to live within contemporary design without simply reproducing the past.

But KHAMALS is also about community.

I don't believe every decision has to happen behind closed doors. Through the KHAMALS Design Table, I invite women into parts of the creative process — discussing proportions, details, functionality and the little decisions that eventually turn an idea into something we can wear.

Because I don't just want to build a clothing brand.

I want to build a world around creativity, womanhood, culture and belonging.

A world where a shirt can leave Switzerland and find itself on a farm in Africa, on a street in London, or in the middle of someone's ordinary Tuesday — and somehow belong in all of those places.

That is the spirit behind One Shirt Around the World.

And this is only the beginning of KHAMALS.
